New Reef Marker in Dinner Bay
There is an uncharted reef in Dinner Bay, a number of years ago I wrote to Navigation Canada and asked permission to mark the reef. They responded favourably but stated that the marker must follow the code with proper markings.
We have now purchased one from Envirofloat as you can see from the picture.
The reef is about 2/3 of the way out of the bay - and closer to the south side than the north side of the bay.
The other day at a 1.2 ft tide I could touch the reef with my hand - about 6 inches of water over it - you will see in the picture that the rocks are quite visible.
I would like AMIB to notify the members of this addition to Dinner Bay - I wouldn't want someone to remove the marker thinking that it had drifted there from somewhere else.
Thanks,
Ian Cocker
